Palmer & Krisel A1

In the Racquet Club Estates, in Palm Springs, sits a derelict Butterfly House, much in need of some love.  The building has had a tough life, with some dodgy attempts to "improve" it.

We're stripping the home back to the original intent of renowned architect William Krisel, altering the layout to suit modern living, and extending it to incorporate an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).

The strength of the homes form is being continued, extending the butterfly roof, and carrying the architectural language through the extension, which in turn frames the main courtyard.

Working on such a famous architectural style carries great responsiblilty.  We're designing a sympathetic alteration that respects the original architectural genius, and extends it.
