We Design For People

Every person is different.
Every person’s life is different.
Every person’s loves are different.
Everywhere you live is different.

Great architecture is about the people it involves, that use it and enjoy it. Architecture should be a pleasure, emotionally and physically. It affects your mental and physical health. This is very important, and we understand that, and embrace it.

With a design process that relies on our emotional intelligence as much as our experience and knowledge, it’s difficult to systematically list how we approach our designs … but here goes:

  • We endeavor to get to know and understand our clients.
  • We focus on how the spaces will interact.
  • We consider the environment we’re designing within.
  • We analyze the construction costs and budget.
  • We balance energy efficiency vs lifestyle and value.

We often receive feedback that we’re known to design buildings that are a pleasure to spend time in. For us, this is the ultimate compliment.

Building Analysis

We use the Actually software (actuallyapp.com) to look closely at the construction costs, carbon, and energy efficiency during our design and documentation process. This gives confidence from concept design through to tender evaluation.

Practice Specialties

Young Architects specializes in designing buildings from initial feasibility through to completion. We prefer to design all parts of the building so as to give a cohesive result. This includes interior design of the joinery, and fixtures. We’ll manage the construction contract, and review payments, helping you all the way through the entire process.

We work closely with the construction team whenever possible. This is very important to us. Our experience gives us a wealth of knowledge in different ways to achieve the aesthetic outcome, and we’re happy to work with the people building our design to ensure we’re all on the same page for our clients.

Our portfolio of projects spans continents and hemispheres, and this has proven our ability to work remotely, understanding our different clients, and honing our ability to deliver for all.

Seamus McAra Young
Irish Terrier

In loving memory of Seamus, 2008 - 2023.

Like JP, Seamus also liked cats.
